“Beauty is simply reality seen with the eyes of love”
– Rabindranath Tagore
Broken hearted, I wandered one evening around my apartment in central Tel-Aviv wondering “What is love”. It was then that I came across a small faded sign with the name of Dahlia Ravikovitch, the poet who had lived and loved there. Researching further I discovered that two other important poets, Lea Goldberg and Yona Wallach which I had then read a lot, lived only a few blocks away. Delving into each culture and its poetic way to express love, I could change my perspective and relate with different eyes to my reality.
This Tel-Aviv Tour tells of three women, their poetic cultures and presents their professional and personal life alongside the complex relationships between the three. Through their poems you will explore hidden and magic worlds, some renowned and others deliberately forgotten. You will discover the interconnectivity between poetry, politics, gender and urban design. Come and discover forms of love, personal poetic cultures and urban design through the eyes of three fascinating women.
Meeting Point: Sderot Ben Gurion 1, Tel Aviv

What People Are Saying
“Encounters’s Poetry Tour was truly original and a fascinating exploration of the works and lives of Lea Goldberg, Yona Wallach, and Dahlia Ravikovitch. I found the tour to be equally appropriate for both Israeli poetry aficionados and people who never heard of these three women before. Ilyll’s expert knowledge brought these women’s exploration of love alive on the streets of Tel Aviv.”
